IMG_0577The Louis Vuitton Series 3 Exhibition is the first time I’ve been to such an event with a PR related mind. Throughout the walking tour of the designers life and brand story, I was constantly thinking about a number of public relations connections

My thinking from my time at the stand alone exhibition, which was all about showcasing creativity, was fueled by the words below, which talk about how this skill comes from consciousness, dreams and self-reflective journeys

Is it true that we’re all just drawn to a brand for it’s aesthetics? This exhibition made me question how important the person behind the facade is, just like in PR really.

The exhibition was designed to create a snapshot into the thought behind the luxury brand – and what a good idea, and one that made it’s reputation soar in my mind. Normally (well, for me anyway) we assume that luxury brands only want the superficial outlook to come through – Series 3 was all about showing that there are real people behind the handbags, and it worked.

Even the entry was free, as was the largely sized poster and monogrammed merchandise you could take away – a pull for us normal consumers who can’t quite afford the luxury price tag, however much we might want to? Even if this was a crafty PR technique that I’ve seen through, it’s still admirable for a brand that already have a huge following to reach out to a new audience.

Was it a great mastermind plan? I thought it worked considerably well for reaching out to a new audience and helping to create a less ‘untouchable’ presence in the fashion industry.IMG_0570
